I purchased this safe (Viking Safe VS-25SX) last week and shipping was prompt. After purchasing the safe I realized it was exactly what I was looking for. It is secure, well-made, can be accessed quickly, and reasonably priced as compared to similar safes on the market.When I went to change the default code to open the safe I carelessly deviated from the instructions (pay attention to the instructions and you can avoid all my headache!) and accidentally set my new code to something that I didn’t know! Lucky enough for me I kept the door open (this tip from the instructions saved my skin!) and emailed Viking Safe Support.Within a few days and after a few emails I was contacted by Brian at Viking Safe who spent an hour teaching me exactly how the Simplex style lockbox functioned and how I could reset my combination. I was amazed at his knowledge and customer service skills! After going out of his way by sharing photos with me that showed exactly what my issues were and how to correct them, I went from hardly understanding lock boxes to correctly fixing my issue and resetting my lock code!Brian went above and beyond the standard of Customer Service that I was accustomed to and I couldn’t thank him enough! His professionalism and knowledge blew me away!Thank you so much for a good quality safe and reminding me that there are great people out there that are always willing to go out of their way to help novices like myself!Viking Safe has a customer for life with me!

I was going to buy the Fort Knox Pistol box but I decided to buy this one instead, and I am so glad I did. This is a superior product. The safe is weighty and made entirely of strong, heavy gauge steel. Even the buttons are metal. The only thing that is plastic is the cover over the led lights that automatically illuminate the interior of the safe when the door is opened. It is also fully carpeted on the inside, even the adjustable shelf is carpeted. It has eight pre-drilled holes, to anchor the safe. Four on the back and four on the bottom and it comes with four robust anchors. The quality of this product alone sets it apart from others however what really makes this product far superior to its competitors are the people that make up this company. They are just on another level. I had a small issue when I received the safe so I emailed customer service expecting to receive a reply in a day or two; however, I received a reply from Angelica their customer service rep within just two and a half hours of sending the email. Her email stated that their tech would be contacting me. But that’s not the best part. The best part is that I got a text from their tech Brain, before I received the email From Angelica. How’s that for efficiency. Needless to say my issue was resolved quickly and completely. I am extremely pleased with my new safe. TRUST ME, THIS IS THE SAFE YOU WANT.

I cannot see the point of spending a couple hundred bucks on a quality steel safe with a $2 digital or biometric lock that will fail when I need it most. The only nice option in my experience is a safe without a simplex mechanical lock. They last forever. So with a Viking Safe, you get a lock that will last as long as the steel it is made with.I have four of these. I only had one occasion to call for support when I messed up re-setting the default combination, and they were responsive and supportive and quickly walked me through the steps to fix it.

Vikings safe with the Simplex lock, 10 inches by 10 inches by 14 in wide. The door opens out with the hinge on the right. It easily holds six handguns, pistols and revolvers, three on the shelf and three below the shelf. Love it!Some concerns:The safe arrived locked and no immediate instructions on how to unlock it. After reading the fold out instructions, page 5 gives the default code to unlock it and then to set your own combination code.Some concerns:Comes with a battery powered light that comes on when the door opens and you have to install 2 AA batteries. First you’ll need a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the light and take it out to install the batteries. This is somewhat inconvenient, but won’t be a frequent requirement.The flat black finish may show white marks, but is easily wiped off.The Shelf was upside down and backwards inside the safe and had to be removed. It’s a very tight fit trying to take it out diagonally corner to corner. Eventually I figured out turning it sideways inside the safe allowed it to easily come through the door end first. You may need to hold the Shelf up while you install the four supports and then lower the Shelf onto the supports. There was no instructions on removing or installing the Shelf.
