This is exactly what I expected when I ordered it. Simple lock, simple to use. I decided on a minimal safe for my needs. By minimal I mean there is no fire insulation and it can be broken in to but it takes a little time and knowledge (all safes can be broken it to with time and knowledge some take longer). It will keep out children and all but experienced burglars. I but it on a shelf in closet that screwed it on one side to a stud and one side to wall anchors. It has holes for screws in bottom and on back to anchor safe in place. The door fits well and would be hard to pry open.

The safe arrived quickly and was packaged wellI set the combo easily following the instructions Then I decided to change the combo and was distracted and forgot what I had done I contacted the company and their technician Brian called me and walked me through the process of resetting my combo I’m pleased with the product and feel confident knowing I’ll be taken care of if I have any issues

One of the buttons for the lock was stuck when I first got the safe. Was sent a replacement by the company, only for the replacement to strip gears on the latch 8 months later. This is a f$@&# gun safe and I have no tolerance for issues with function. It has to be reliable like my life depends on it because one unlucky night it just might.Obviously this safe has been proven to me to be unreliable enough that I have no interest in trying a third replacement safe, because I have been lucky enough to not have it fail while locked. Imagine ruining a $1000 firearm because you had to drill out the safe because the latch broke.Update 12/19/23: Viking Safe reached out to me personally shortly after I posted this review. After talking for a bit, we ended up getting it all worked out. My one star review was based on the perception that I was being hung out to dry, and that Viking wouldn’t stand behind their product. Viking made it clear that this isn’t the case and that is not what Viking strives for. I feel very well taken care of and would in nice faith recommend them again.
