Well made and sturdy. I like the 5 button mechanical lock which gives a lot combination options. The lock can take two button and one button input, but you can only use each button once. Also, your combination must be entered in the correct sequence or it will not open (a nice feature). Also, after entering your combination you must turn the knob clockwise to open the safe. Turn it counter-clockwise and it deletes your entry and you must sart over (I also think this is a good feature for security). Follow the instructions and it is easy to set your combination. The safe is heavy, so I have it mounted on a night stand shelf besides my bed.I’m using it for my Smith and Wesson Shield Plus 9mm and there is enough room for the weapon, two spare magazines and two boxes of ammo with room left over.

Here are my two gripes:1) The drawer is spring loaded to pop open after the unlock lever is turned. However, when you close it back up, you have to push the drawer in while turning the lever to lock it. This is a pretty minor annoyance since you can still close it up one-handed.2) The slider’s bolt ends protrude into the interior space and the manufacturers have cut circles in the foam leaving them exposed.Otherwise I like the safe and do think it’s a nice value.
