Change the PIN Code
Viking BL-Line Safes
Before You Start
- The factory default PIN code is 1234.
- You will need access to the safe while it is open.
- Choose your new PIN code before starting the process.
Enter Programming Mode
- Enter the default PIN code: 1234
- Press and HOLD the star (*) button for 1–2 seconds
- Release when the underscore symbol ( _ ) appears on the display
- The underscore confirms the safe is ready to accept a new PIN code.
Enter Your New PIN Code
- Enter your new chosen PIN code
- Press the star (*) button once
- Do NOT hold the star button during this step.
Confirm Your New PIN Code
- Re-enter the same new PIN code
- Press the star (*) button once again
- Do NOT hold the star button.
- When entered correctly, the screen will display an “OK” confirmation message.
- At this point, only your newly registered PIN code will work.
Test the New PIN Code
- It is important to test both the old and new codes.
- Enter 1234 + star (*)
- The display should show ERR (Error)
- The safe should not open
- Enter your new PIN code + star (*)
- The safe should unlock
- If the safe unlocks with your new code and rejects the old code, the change was successful.
Important Notes
If you are replacing a previously registered PIN code:
- Follow the same steps above
- Use your current registered PIN code instead of the default 1234 in Step 1
If you reboot the safe by holding down the Red Button A for 10 seconds, the safe will return to Default Mode. This means:
- All stored data will be erased
- The safe will open using 1234 + star (*)
- Your previously registered PIN code will no longer work
- To set a new PIN again, simply repeat the steps outlined above.
